About Mosaic Artist Linda Zidonik
Linda Zidonik has working mosaic studios in both, Micanopy, Florida and Windsor, Massachusetts. After retiring from her day job she would like to divide her time more evenly between these two favorite spots.
Linda’s day job is teaching art in elementary school. She’s been enjoying this for almost twenty years. Linda is a national board certified art teacher and has won numerous honors for perfecting her craft and touching the lives of so many children. For the last two years she has been teaching part-time to allow more time for her mosaic business.
Linda attended Franconia College, Boston Art Institute, Universite de la Nouveau Monde, and the University of Florida. She has a degree in art education. Linda married Steve in 1978 and together had three beautiful daughters. During a high school crew team dinner she formed a new alliance with two other artist mothers, Tesserae Passionata. Together they learned the processes of mosaics at a much accelerated pace. Tesserae Passionata traveled to Ravenna, Italy to take a week long workshop. They studied the classic Roman mosaics and methods. These three are still strong friends and meet weekly but as time goes on they sometimes have branched out onto individual artistic paths.
I am content with this as my life’s work. I want to do significant and powerful art that will touch lives with as much passion as I have for making it.” –Linda Zidonik
